Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 can 14
- 5 oz diced tomatoes
- 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup Merlot wine
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish optional
Instructions:
Over medium heat, brown the ground beef in a large pot
Peel and chop the onion and bell pepper into small pieces
Cook the vegetables until they get soft
Kidney beans, tomato paste, chili powder, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper should all be added now
Turn down the heat and let the chili simmer for a while
Put a lid on top and cook for 30 minutes, stirring every now and then
